Transport for London (TFL) is funding the £114 million Liveable Neighbourhoods programme, which means that at least 18 London boroughs (with this number set to increase) will have the opportunity to create streets and places that encourage walking, cycling and the use of public transport.
The aim is to reduce the number of people travelling by car, which is in line with the Mayor’s Transport Strategy.
Hosted by the London Borough of Haringey, this conference will highlight the best examples of political leadership, policy, projects, and programmes that are delivering Liveable Neighbourhoods.
The Liveable Neighbourhoods Best Practice Guide will be launched at the event and will provide practical hints and guidance for implementing healthy street initiatives. The guide draws on best practice examples from the mini-Holland Boroughs and Phase 1 of the Liveable Neighbourhood programme.
This event will be an excellent opportunity to share best practice, listen to expert viewpoints, and make valuable connections.
Lakeside Group will be exhibiting the solareye80, an eco-friendly ground light that gently illuminates and outlines cycle paths and footpaths without disrupting the environment.
